New Year – Plan B
Plan B? What happened to Plan A? I turned it into a paper plane, lost it out of a window, and it’s now happily touring the globe :)
In all seriousness, 2015 has not treated me well. It has thrown some sticks and stones, and has broken some bones. I won’t dwell on the bad stuff, it’s already had a jolly old time dancing on my brain. All that matters is that I have a plan in place to make 2016 much much better :)
This is kind of a new-year-resolution post but mostly something to measure against throughout the year. It can be hard realising and then admitting that you don’t do enough work or you don’t paint enough or you are lacking some skills. Time to fix that, pronto!
Everybody loves a good bulleted list, right? Of course you do!
- continue developing Redbubble shop (look at getting some products featured on blogs)
- create a new piece of work every week (try to focus on where I want to be and what I’m weak at)
- learn stuff! (more specifically – 3D modelling, animation)
- get ideas written down before they disappear
They might seem like the easiest or simplest goals to set but they will hopefully be achievable for the year ahead. From the small goals above I could easily add bigger goals, like turning some of those ephemeral ideas in to something physical. Some of the ideas I’ve already ensnared in my notebook would make lovely children’s books. But let’s not get carried away.
So I raise a glass to 2016, the leap year that will be better!
